Unfulfilled Promises

When China was given the opportunity to host the 2008 olympics, the China government promised to the world thar China would be more liberal and open and that the olympic games would be held under blue sky.
But Beijing remains polluted and China will not tolerate any forms of legal gatherings or political dissents though olympics is about one week away. The China government again shows to the world that it cannot be trusted and it will not honour its promises. The world has learnt a lesson. Communists can never be trusted.

Vote Them Out Of Office

After forming the state government, the mentri besar of Trengganu became arrogant. While people are suffering due to increasing oil price and the high inflation rate, the BN state government decided to buy mercedes for their exco councillors to enjoy despite protests from the people.
Absolute power corrups absolutely. The only way to get rid of corrupted people is to vote them out in the next election. Do not be fooled by them again.

SALUTING jEYARETNAM OF SINGAPORE

82 years old J eyaretnam is a man to be respected.Though he had been jailed many times by Singapore government and declared bankrupt many times, he does not give up easily. He is the thorn of the flesh to the Singapore government.

At his age, most people , if not all, would quit politic. It is more so in Singapore as there is no future for the opposition parties since politic is monopolised by PAP and there isn`t any democracy or judiciary independence in Singapore. But Jeyaretnam said that as long as he is healthy, he would continue to fifgt for democracy and freedom in Singapore, knowing very well that he might be jailed and declared bankrupt again.
Jeyaretnam is a man of pricinple.Unlike most politicians (expecially Malaysian politicians) who joined politic for the sole reason of personal gain, Jeyaretnam takes politic as a noble course to fight for democracy and freedom for Singaporeans. Sadly, not many Singaporeans appreciate his contributions to the nation. Many Singaporeans and Malaysians think that he is a fool. Sometimes, it is the " fool "like Jeyaretnam and Nelson mandela who contribute to the civilisation of mankind rather than those dictators who think that they are indispensable.

The Suitable MCA Presidential Candidate

MCA is going to elect its president very soon. It is paramount for the delegates to elect a candidate who is clean, not corrupted and free from all sorts of scandals, including sex scandals, to be their president.

On the other hand, if some corrupt leaders who were involved in scandals were to be elected to the top posts, then MCA will be the laughing stock of Malaysian politics and the whole MCA election will become a mockery.

It is surprising to note that some leaders who were involved in sex scandals are still popular. Does it mean that MCA members could accept these types of leaders or does it mean that sex scandals have been a common practice in MCA that all members accept them as norms?

A leader must lead by example and walk the talk. For MCA to be strong and to represent the Chinese, its president must be a righteous man.

UMNO TAKING PAS FOR A RIDE

Some PAS leaders had a talk with UMNO. According to Pak Lah, they had had three rounds of talks. UMNO at this moment needs PAS very desperately. Although both parties claimed that they talked about Islam and the Malay rights, some reliable sources said that UMNO had offered to cooperate with PAS to capture Selangor.PAS spiritual leader, Nik Aziz, however, is not that keen on the talks. He said" one should not be bitten by the same snake in the same hole twice."He was referring to the bitter experience in which PAS was kicked out of BN many years ago. Many PAS leaders are also very skeptical about the talks.

In any case, the talks had created a lot of controversials in the socierties. Some are happy to see that Malays are united. But others, particularly those non muslims who had voted PAS in the last election , expressed concerns and worries. They are worried that PAS had betrayed them. Whether PAS would be able to get their supports again in the next election yet to be seen.

In fact, we do not oppose any dialoques between PAS and UMNO. But they should be talking about democracy, freedom, religion tolerance , transparency, judiciary independance, accoutability, zero corruptions and integrity instead of talking along the racial line and Islam. We are all Malaysians. All of us should have equal right. Thus in the declaration of independance by the United States, it was declared that all men are born equal.

If our leaders wish to be leaders of all races, they have to be fair to all races. If the leaders are biased against any race, they would be abandoned by the rakyat.

Enjoying At The Expense Of Others

The Trengganu state government spent more than three million ringgit to buy mercedes for its high ranking staff .It is ridiculous.

While the rakyat are suffering due to increase of petrol fees, the Trengganu state government should be more prudent in spending peoples` money. But instead, the state government knows how to enjoy. No wonder many people are eager to become politicians.Enjoy by all means but please use your own money, not peoples`money.

Abdullah Badawi must stop the Trengganu government from wasting tax payers` money. Otherwise, the state BN will lose its power in the next election

Democracy Is China`s solution

Things are not right in China. Corruptions, abuse of laws, disrespect human rights and beating up demonstrators by police have become a norm in China.

The communist party of China, due to its fear of losing power, has become insensitive to the needs of people and it tends to protect its corrupt officers. They do not care for the victims of the earthquake and did not punish the corrupt officers who were involved in the collapsed buildings that used substandard materials.
The officers have too much power. They are like kings. They always abuse the people.
China has no future if it does not practice democracy. Olympics own`t make China a progressive and strong country.Democracy will.

It Is Incredible

When Obama toured Europe these few days, he was treates as a hero. Some papers even equal him to president Kennedy. There is no doubt that Obama is charismatic. But what surprises me is that most white people have changed their mindsets. They do not mind coloured to be the president of America. The whites no longer regard themselves as a superior race. They accept other races to be their leaders. This is a good sign.

We want Nothing But Truth

Anwar is arrested again but is released today. He would most probably be charged for sodomy.

In any case, what Malaysians want is truth. To prove Anwar is quilty or not, there need to be a profesional police force that carries out its duties without fear of favour. it cannot be instructed by anybody , including politicians, to investigate. It must be fair, honest and transparent when it carried out its investigations.

If the police has integrity and honesty in its investigation about Anwar`s case. then its outcomes and reports will be accepted by the world with due respect. But on the other hand, any manipulation, fabrication and distortion by any party can cause people to lose confidence.

Much Ado About Nothing

It is with regret to note that there is severe traffic jams due to road blocks within the town centre.

We are not blaming the police for the traffic jams because they just carried out their duties. But the person or persons who gave order for the road blocks must be more sensitive to the needs of the people.

In a democratic country, people have the rights of gathering, as long as they do it peacefully. So we hope police would be more professional in future to carry out their duties so that whatever they do would not cause any inconvenience to the people.

PA`s greatest challenge

People Alliance should start to deliver its promises after 100 days of honeymoon period.

People expect PA to outperform the BN. Voters who voted for PA want to see that states governed by PA will do much better than the states ruled by the BN.

Therefore, the MPs and the state assembkymen from PA must work extremely hard to ensure that the people in the five states ruled by the PR are satisfied economocally and politically.

It would be unwise for the PR to spend too much time quarreling among themselves over trivial things. The PAs should have the wisdom not to introduce Islamic laws.Otherwise PAS will be voted out by the non muslims in the next election.

Towards A Better Tomorrow

Some ignorant people blame the present political instability for the poor performance of KLSE. It is totally wrong. Though political stability is important, it is not the most important factor that is taken into consideration by the foreign investors when they decide to invest in a country.
If political stability is the main criterion for the foreign investors to invest in a country, then we would expect Singapore, Hong kong, Taiwan, China, America and Europe`s share markets to do well since all the above-mentioned countries are very stable. Singapore and China will not toletate any forms of political dissents and there aren`t any strong opposition parties in the two countries. Yet, the share markets in both the countries tumbled. Shanghai share market falls to below 3000 points from its peak of 6000 points last year.
The world economy is badly affected by the increasing oil price and the subprime problems of America. Even if today BN were to sweep all the seats in the parliament , the foreign investors will still pull out from the Malaysian markets once they have made enough profits after pushing the index to its new height of 1500 points in the year 2007.

Infact, Malaysians should be grateful that Malaysia has become more democratic, more transparent and enjoys more freedom under the leadership of Paklah. Do you think the former prime minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir would allow Malaysians to have the present democracy and freedom enjoyed by us if he is still in power now?

When a country transits from dictatorship to democracy, there bound to have chaos , confusion and quarrels in the political arena. Some countries are more fortunate and transition of power is smooth when government changes hand. These countries include the western democratic countries , Japan, Korea and Taiwan. Some countries are less fortunate. Thus when Surhato was forced to step down, the remnants of the Surhato cronies and his succeessors rioted. They burnt down houses, killed and raped the Chinese.

We are grateful that Pak Lah is a logical and reasonable politician who allows smooth transition of power in the states governed by the People Alliance. This is democracy. Pak lah respects rules of laws. And we hope that even if the People Alliance were to gain majority seats in the next coming election , it would be allowed to rule the country peacefully without any riots and disturbances. When all politicians respect rules of laws, Malaysia will be a land filled with milk and honey.

When we are gearing towards two party system, disputes, quarrels and confusions in politics are inevitable. We hope that both BN and PA will have the political maturity to maintain law , order and peace in their struggles to gain power.

Fellow Malaysians, don`t you think that we Malaysians are fortunate that we enjoy democracy and freedom more than some of our friends in the neighbouriong countries? In some countries , the opposition parties have no chance of winning an election because they are constantly harrassed by the ruling parties. The opposition leaders are always charged for libels , defamations and bankruptcy. The opponents are either declared bankrupt or in the jails. They have no chance of winning a fair election. But these countries are stable politically. Do you want Malaysia to have this type of so-called democracy whereby press is controlled, feedom of speech is curtailed and judiciary manipulated?
So count the blessings, brothers. Do not simply accuse that foreign investors running away from Malaysia due to political instability. What the investors want is a country which practices real democracy ,transparency and accountability. The investors wants an independent judiciary and zero corruptions. On top of that , the foreign investors want to see that our government takes actions against the corrupt company directors who cheat and disregards the interests of small share holders. If we can guarantee the foreigners a conducive environment to invest so that they can maximize their profits, we are confident that they will flock into Malaysia.

we strongly believe that political instability is a temporary phenomenon . If everyboby respects rules of laws and that excutive, legislative and judiciary powers ensure that nobody is above the laws, then Malaysia will have a bright future despite its present uncertainties.

Why Mahathir Wants Najib To Be Prime Minister Now

When Mahathir appointed Abdullah to be his successor few years ago, he expected Abdullah to be a nice yes man and listen to his commands . But Abdullah refused to do so. This has angered Mahathir and he wanted Abdullah to step down, to give way to Najib, hoping that Najib will be obedient to him and tow the line and protect his interests which he acquired over many decades.

But Najib has his own personal problems and he dares not challenge Abdullah at this moment because Abdullah has a trunk card in his hand. Mahathir is an intelligent person. He must know the reasons why Najib dares not challenge Abdullah Badawi.

Mahathir is very frustrated. He wants Najib to be a man of courage and he wants Najib to fight for president post in the coming UMNO election. But Najib hesitated.
Mahathir is worried that Anwar will be the next prime minister. He is afraid that Anwar might take revenge on him once Anwar becomes prime minister.

Had Mahathir insisted on the rule of laws and respected judiciary when he was in power , he needs not fear Anwar because the laws will protect him if he commits no crimes. Now Mahathir is worried about his own shadow. What a pity!

A polluted Olympics

when China was given an opportunity to host the olympics in the year 2008, it promised that it will solve the pollution problems and that olympics will be carried out under the clear blue sky.

But now, jist one month away from the opening ceremony of the olympic games, Beijing`s sky is still polluted, gloomy and full of unhealthy pollutants. The China government is good at making promise but did not deliver it.

A sensible government should know that tackling pollutions, global warmings and safe guard the welfare of its people is more important than hosting olympic games.

If China government fails to keep its promise to have a pollution free olympics, should it be given another chance to organize another one in the future?

Rhetoric

The G8 meeting is being held at Hokkaido. All the world`s famous leaders including Bush had a wonderful stay at Hokkaido.
The leaders met, talked and negotiated. They talked about greenhouse effect, global warmings, pollutions , food shortage, violation of human rights, Iran nuclear threats and above all , increasing oil price. But they lack of commitments to solve the problems. After the meeting, the world leaders go back to their old ways. Countries continue to emit carbon dioxide. Some countries continue to violate human rights and disrespect rules of laws. The oil price continues to go up. Iran continues in its ambitious nuclear programme. Nothing has been achieved. The G 8 meeting is a waste of time and money.
If the G8 leaders lack of political wills to solve the world`s problems, it would be better for them to disband this organization.

Where Is Bala?

The personal investigator, Bala and his family members are missing. Although Bala has contacted his nephew, nobody knows where he is now except the police since he spoke to his nephew using the phone he borrowed from a policeman.
Was Bala under house arrest? Or was he being asked to hide in a secretive place so that nobody will find out the actual truth regarding the murder case of the Mongolian lady?Perhaps police should give an explanation so as to show that it is transparent and trustworthy.
In any case, Bala should be allowed to talk to the media. If he lies to the media or the courts regarding the murder case, he can then be charged for perjury. But if for some reasons he was detained to prevent him from speaking the truth, then it is against the law. It is contempt of court. It is violation of human right. The person or persons(however powerful) who ordered the detaintion of Bala should be charged in the court for obtructing police in its investigations about the murder case. The person or persons should be charged for contempt of courts.
The judge who presides the murder case must order the release of Bala( if he is unlawfully detained) immediatedly. Law must be fair and seemed to be fair to everybody.

Malaysia is a democratic country. We cannot allow some people to put laws in their hands.

Nobody is above the law.

Law is supreme in any country. All countries need laws to rule effectively. Without laws the nations will fall into hands of tyrants and dictators.
Therfore, it does not matter whether one is an ordinary person or a powerful politician, if he or she commits crimes, he or she must be brought to justice and let courts decide whether he is quity or ignorant.

Unfortunately, in Malaysia, only ordinary people are brought to justice when they commit crimes but the big fish always have ways and means to avoid being punished since they are powerful and they know all the loop holes. This is bad to the nation because people have no faith in our judiciary system. When judiciary can be manipulated by some influential politicians, democracy is dead. When democracy does not exist , people will suffer from poverty and abuse of power.
Therefore, all Malaysians, regardless of race, religion and cultural background, must strive to ensure that law is obeyed by all parties. We must not allow anybody to be above the law. For if you allow law to be manipulated, you will be the victim of dictators and tyrants.

Is there Law In China?

A sixteen year old girl student had been raped and murdered in the province of Guichou in China.

According to reliable sources, the girl had been raped and killed by the nephew of a powerful local officer in Guichou. The police tried to cover up the case and claimed that the girl committed suicide because her family did not treat her well. And the officers concerned tried to destroy the evidenve that she had been raped and murdered.

When the family members protested this grotesque case, the police beat up a close member of the victim`s family and he died from serious injuries. And this had aroused the anger of the people and thousands of people in Kuichou demonstrated against the cruel way of handling this type of rape and murder case.

Although I am just a Malaysian Chinese( fortunately my ancestors came out of China), i feel deep sympathy and sorrow for the victim`s family. At the same time, I feel angry and regret that the Chinese government allowed this type of barbaric crime to happen in Guichou . The central government of Beijing not only tried to protect the officers and the murderers concerned but also used excessive force to dispel the demonstrators. Many people were seriously wounded by the riot police in the demonstrations.

The question here is: Does China have Law? If it has a law, why the law is not used to protect the victim and her family but instead is used to protect the criminal who is a close relative of a high ranking officer?

I strongly think that the United Nation under the leadership of US should intervene in this case. This case involves human right and the life of an innocent girl. If China government, under the leadership of Hu Jin Tao, cannot handle this case fairly, then China is not fit to organize the Olympic games in the coming August. One of the most important objectives of the olympic games is to promote human right, justice and peace for all races and nations. If China government cannot protect its own people from the hands of criminals and worse, sides with the criminals, it has no justification whatsover to organise olympic games. To allow Beijing to organize the olympic games will be a laughing stock and mockery to the world`s justice if China government has no respect for human right and life of an innocent girl.

In this regard, i strongly appeal to the world leaders, particularly Bush , to exert pressure on the China government , to investigate this rape and murder case and brings justice to the victim`s family. The rapists , the murderes and the officers concerned ( no matter how powerful they are) should be sentenced to death or life imprisonment.

In the feudal China, it was a norm for officers to rape, kill and murder any people as they liked. But today we are in a borderless world. The China government cannot say that the rape and the murder case belongs to its home affair and other countries cannot interfere. In fact, all civilized countries in the world should interfere in this case .If your neighbour decides to kill his girl, should we keep quiet and say this is other people`s business and we should not interfere?

The world`s leaders should intervene immediately. If China government refuses to obey rules of laws and insist this case is the internal affair of China, then it is proper for all the world`s leaders (especially Bush), atheletes, sportsmen or sportswomen to boycott the olympic games.
If china government strogly thinks it can do what it thinks is right, let Beijing runs its own olympic events without world`s participations.

Najib And Anwar In A Fierce Political Battle

Malaysia politics is getting more and more interesting as Najib and his bitter political enemy are engaged in a fierce political battle

While Najib accused Anwar of commiting sodomy, Anwar accused Najib of his involvement in the murder of the Mongolian lady, Alantuya.

Malaysians demand police to investigates the cases without fear or favour. What we want is nothing but truth. And we hope that the judiciary if free from interference of any parties. After all , Malaysia needs political leaders who have integrity and they must be trustworthy, honest and free from any crimes.

Why Ong Kar Ting wants to quit

Ong Kar Ting had announced that he will not contest in the coming MCA election. He wants to step down from his presidential post. It is a wise move for him to do so because it is hard for MCA to gain the support of Chinese due to current political conditions. The Chinese are not happy with the government over many unfair policies and they think that MCA has not done enough to help them. Many chinese feel that Ong is too soft or too weak

The next election will decide the survival of MCA. If MCA fails to gain support from the Chinese again then it will be the begining of the end of MCA.

Perhaps the MCA can play up the Islamic State issue. It depends on the Chinese whether they really think PAS is a menace. If PAS acts foolishly in the next few years, MCA might still regain some grounds. But on the other hand if PR could prove to the people that they are capable and trustworthy and that they could rule the country better then BN will be down and out.

So it is wise for Ong to step down because he knows very well that it is extremely hard for BN to win back the lost ground. The MCA can only hope that PR makes a serious mistake in its policy or that the component parties of PR quarrel over certain issues.
