During cultural revolution, some poor christians gave thanks to God just before they began their dinner. " Dear God, thank you for providing food for us----" Before they could finish their prayers, the communists, who happened to be seated near their table in a restaurant , intervened, " No. You cannot give thanks to God. You must give thanks to chairman Mao."
Disgusted, the group of christians asked, " What if Mao passed away?" " Then you can give thanks to God," the communist cadres said.
